Mission

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. "
Matthew 22:37-39

The mission of Rock of Christ is ultimately the same mission Jesus gave his followers:
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

At Rock of Christ, we frame this mission as:
"Love God and Make His Love Known"

We seek to accomplish this in a variety of ways:
  • Through international partnerships, supporting and working alongside faithful churches, missionaries, and ministries who are advancing the gospel among the nations. We want to see Christ worshiped where His name is not yet known and churches strengthened where they already exist.
  • Through a strong local presence, seeking the good of our community by loving our neighbors, serving with generosity, and proclaiming the gospel clearly and faithfully. We want our city to be better because the church is here, and for the good news of Jesus to go out further than our walls.
  • Through intentional discipleship within the church, growing together in the Word, in holiness, and in maturity. We believe disciples are formed best in meaningful community, where believers encourage one another, bear one another’s burdens, and are equipped to follow Christ in every area of life.
  • Through gathered worship, as we assemble each Lord’s Day to hear the Word preached, sing God’s truth, confess our sins, and rejoice in the gospel. We believe God forms His people through ordinary, faithful worship, shaping our loves and directing our lives toward His glory.
  • Through prayer, as a dependent and hopeful people who know that lasting fruit comes from the Lord. We devote ourselves to praying for one another, for our church, for our city, and for the nations, trusting God to work powerfully through the prayers of His people.

Rock of Christ is glad to partner in the work of gospel ministry with these organizations, sharing a commitment to faithful doctrine, cooperative mission, and the advance of Christ’s church. Through these partnerships, we labor together for the good of the local church and the spread of the gospel.

Southern Baptist Convention
We partner with the Southern Baptist Convention to cooperate with like-minded churches in the work of missions, theological education, and gospel advance around the world. Through this partnership, we gladly support church planting and global missions while remaining rooted in the authority of the local church.


The Pillar Network
We partner with the Pillar Network for fellowship, encouragement, and shared wisdom among other reformed Baptist pastors and churches committed to gospel-centered ministry. This relationship strengthens our leaders through accountability, resourcing, and collaboration for faithful, long-term church health.


Heart of Kansas Southern Baptist Association
We partner with the Heart of Kansas Southern Baptist Association to work alongside local churches in our region for mutual support and gospel witness. Through this association, we cooperate in local mission efforts, pastoral encouragement, and the strengthening of churches across our community.
